Other Packages
Distributions comes with often (slightly) different versions of the shared
libraries, which sometimes complicates running existing binary packages.
But here are some of my favorite packages you may not find in your
distribution:
- ddd, a fabulous
GUI frontend for the dbx/gdb debugger families.
(although gvd is also very good, and has better source code browsing)
- ccmalloc:
a great way to find memory leaks (although i more often now use
valgrind)
and various packages of which we keep a local copy on
/n/apus/linux/astromake/ :
